Southern New Hampshire Health is pleased to announce increased patient access to valuable radiology services with a new, on-site, state-of-the-art GE Healthcare Omni PET/CT scanner located at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. With the addition of this new cutting-edge technology, oncology patients, and those with other conditions needing advanced imagery from across southern New Hampshire, can count on Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for greater access to this care.
“Having greater access to the latest imaging technology within our hospital will enhance our ability to diagnose and treat cancer at its earliest stages,” said Gautami Rao, MD, with Foundation Hematology/Oncology. “An investment in this technology is an investment in our fight against cancer, offering more hope and better health to our patients.”
The technology has a dedicated location and staff in Southern NH Medical Center, opening opportunities for potential new uses in the future. Southern NH Health will continue innovating with new ways to use the technology as new FDA approvals come forward and new studies are possible.
“Innovation benefitting patient care is a priority for Southern New Hampshire Health. Our investment in on-site, leading imaging technology is an example of this focus on innovation and is an important step in aligning our commitment to increase access to healthcare services to our community – bringing excellence in care closer to home,” said Southern New Hampshire Health President and CEO Colin McHugh.
The purchase of this new equipment was assisted by funding from Congressionally Directed Spending Grants from Senator Shaheen’s office.
